Way off topic: Lego Bob's Burgers

eurotrash

Dirt Disciple
I got challenged recently to build in Lego the Restaurant from the TV Show Bob's Burgers. I ended up in the deepest parts of teh interweb looking for source materials, I tweeted with one the writers, I tried to hook up with the animation company, I watched countless episodes to try to get decent source images to work from. I even downloaded a cut-out-and-paste Burger Van to build from. I went overboard and ended up creating all three buildings complete with graphics.

Here's the results.

LOL.

That's epic... paid for or just for fun?

Oh just for fun. The entire world of Adult Lego revolves around ridiculous challenges and bragging rights.

Re:

Always loved lego :-D

What else do you/have you built?
Do you have to buy all the bricks and stuff?

I've got a Flickr account that's got most of my posted stuff on it. It's mainly buildings, vehicles, trams/streetcar, competition entries, etc. (https://www.flickr.com/photos/eurotrash48903/.

I get some freebies (sets/bags of bricks) from Lego as a thank you for the public displays I participate in each year, but most of my inventory has been obtained through http://www.bricklink.com. I get an idea (or I'm challenged) to build something. I then work out how to do it and mock it up with any color I've got available, place a couple of bricklink orders, rip out the bum colors, finish it, take pictures and post. Then chuck the pieces back into inventory and start on the next one. I suppose I've built maybe 60-80 'things' but <20 are still intact.

I think building with Lego, riding a MTB, and brewing beer makes me a renaissance man!

Re:

Been looking at your pics and googling adult lego (some of which is, er, interesting! ) some simply amazing things people have built, like fully working scale trucks!

Amazing!

Fantastic.
Would love to play,er, model with Lego again, gutted I gave all mine away when I grew out of it.

Re:

Do you use Kragle? Or do you take them apart after a certain amount of time to start the next challenge?

Kragle? Never! But I did use a Dremmel to hack some bits when I was desperately in need of a couple of hinge-like pieces that I didn't have (and wouldn't arrive before the deadline).

Some of the these MOCs (My Own Creations) will stay together for a season or two, some will just last a few days, some like the Nodding Donkey https://www.flickr.com/photos/eurotrash ... 9848691937 have stayed untouched since I first built it (it moves slowly up and down like the real thing and its a crowd-pleaser at the displays ).

It all depends.
