Warped dropout, any ideas?

Just spotted this on my new bike.

Just done 10 miles and didn’t die, but I suspect it will fail at some point.

Any ideas or should I be looking for a new frame

A new dropout would no doubt cost me triple what I paid for the whole bike

Oh dear. That doesn't look great. I would suggest that maybe you have discovered why it was for sale. Still, at least it didn't fail while you were riding. That's not to say it will fail, but I'd be keeping both wheels on the ground when out on it if I were you. I bent a hanger back into alignment before, and had no major issues with it. I'm a little jockey though. If it's steel you should be OK. If it's an aluminium frame I'd maybe not ride it much

I have bent dropouts a few times on rocks and such, personally I would bend it back. Never had a problem on steel frames.

Well fixable
Heat it up cherry red hot and you can bend it back to correct shape like plasticine.
I'd probably charge £25, mostly for the hassle of getting the oxyacetylene out and avoiding burning holes in my trousers.

You might want to match the paint after, or just slop on some hammerite

You can probably do it yourself with a hot blowtorch and a couple of adjustable spanners.
The bend isn't bad, and as @mk one says, diy should be ok.

I'm often dealing with (steel) dropouts where the derailleur mount hole is pointing at the sky and ovalised.

A diy dropout alignment tool can be made for very little.

If you're not confident doing it yourself then always best to get a professional to do it. I have always just cold bent the dropouts/hangers and works fine, just bend a bit at a time so you are not having to bend it back and forth.

So, I got a quote from a shop. £30

They said it isn't that bad and he would just cold bend it back over an old axle.

So, I might just have a to myself.

Although the only axle I have is a modern mtb one and I don't want to damage that.

Any ideas?
