Hi, just noticed your thread and I'm a newbie on here.
I'm selling my 1994 Diamondback Axis and will be putting it on ebay today. It is still very original, with the usual consumable parts like tyres and grips replaced. The only differences to when it was standard are a Club Roost handlebar and a Mavic SUP rear wheel, little anodized Onza cable hangers and titanium pivot bolts on the brakes. It also has titanium X Lite skewers front and rear. I has full XT including a chainset upgrade to I think a 2003 XT crank and chainrings, True Temper Chro-mo frame in the Nickel finish.
Usual things have also been changed like chain and rear cassette. For some reason I thought red anodized jockey wheels were better than standard Shimano ones, so the rear mech has those too. Well I was only 16 at the time! I had this bike since new and I was about 5'7" when I bought it so the frame size of 16" 3/4 was perfect for me. Now being a shade over 6" it is still good to ride, although on a long ride it may get a bit uncomfortable. For its age the bike is in good nick with usual rust patches here and there but all the components still work brilliantly and Id say it shifts alot smoother than my modern bike. I always think having full XT all round was the best choice, why modern bikes have a hash of components I'll never know!
If your interested let me know. I cant post photos as I'm newbie but can email them.
