picked up Kev's hahanna today, thanks Kev, and forks on way, thanks minifreak, but now the daughter is wanting one ? less urgent.......but do need a 27.0mm seat post, quite urgently, or may just have to get a new cheap one.....
just thought I'd post a pic now the Mrs has a working bike, thanks to Kev for the frame, Tim the forks and Guy the seatpost who at the last minute had one and helpfully lived round the corner and no thanks to the nameless muppet off ebay who's seatpost still has not arrived and has not even bothered to respond to a single email, or the MyHermes delivery person who, when bringing the forks, could not be bothered to raise his arm to ring the doorbell but just left the package on the path, couple of steps from the pavement on a busy London street. Luck was smiling.
It's working but will need a couple of tweeks. Yes the chain is a bit long, but she's never ridden ss so may have to adjust gearing and prefer not to repeatedly play with chain lengths. Need a tensioner rather than the stand in Shimano 600 although its doing a grand job. The bars are a little high but that's as low as they go with the stem and the short head tube/steerer so again see how she gets on before the hacksaw comes out only to be told she prefers it higher, and keeping 2" inserted doesn't leave much room
