Retro Newbie
Having folded a frame on a stupid pedestrian that ran in front of me from in front of a bus (the trip to hospital will have probably made them think twice about looking from now on though!), it is time to start building a new bike so i am on the look out for a donor frame / bike for refurbishment along these lines...
- It has to be Raleigh (I want to go British this time!), ideally one of the "Team" frames but not essential.
- Reynolds tubing either 531c, 653, or 753 as i need it to be reasonably light.
- Size needs to be around the 55cm / 21" mark
- It must have a gear hanger on the rear drop-outs (a knee injury means my fixed days are over).
- Condition-wise it needs to be true, but as long as there is no structural damage the more tired looking the better, as it will be stripped and re-chromed/painted anyway, so something that won't be naughty to do that to!
- Age i guess late 70's to mid 80's is probably about right.
- Price, well i really don't want to go nuts as i am looking for something pretty tired looking in need of some TLC!
- I am in the London area but would be happy to pay delivery if outside a potential pick-up range.
Any help would be really appreciated!
Cheers
