I am looking for a lightweight mtb frame. Condition isn't particulary an issue, as I intend to respray or have it stripped and powder coated. Structurally sound and reliable is essential.

I certainly aren't no authority on mtb's, but I more or less know what I am looking for,but suggestions are always acknowledged and appreciated.

Like I say, condition not an issue, so long as structurally sound. I prefer the look of 'slimmer' frames, rather than the large 'boxy' tubed frames.

Ideally lightweight, 18'' - 20'', 1 1/8 steerer, V brake mounts.

I have to be honest, I aren't looking to pay a lot for a frame, it's more just a 'project' than a 'mission' to have the greatest mtb in the world, but in common with most mtb enthusiasts I appreciate 'nice' things.

It'll be a total rebuild, based on my available budget and available parts from my existing mtb. I've accumulated most parts via various sources and am now lacking a 27.2 seatpost, a reasonable saddle and a decent pair of 26'' wheels, and of course a decent frame.

I have had some great offers previously on here, some really nice desirable frames, from some really helpful people, but have found that the frames I have had offered are probably out of my league.

You can always get me on my yahoo messenger if it'seasier, details are on my profile, thanks, all the very best. ed.

I have a blue Handsome Dog frame (from local shop All terrain Cycles!). I know its not mega desirable at all, but it could get you moving and would ride really nicely. Quite light alloy frame.

Size is 19.25" centre to top, 17.5" C-C, 22.75" toptube, 100mm headtube.
V-brake only. Only imperfection is two small dings in toptube which won't affect strength etc.

I would sell with seatpost and collar (probably £15 worth on their own!) for £30 and I work in Leeds/live in Huddersfield so could pop it round for you.

I can do pics tonight if interested.

Cheers

Rob

Cheers for message Rob, I aren't honestly too sure how you mean 'Not mega dsirable'. So long as its not gonna collapse or do owt unpredictable it should be okay, I am interested, and would definitely appreciate pictures.

Is it 1 & 1/8 steerer ?

Thanks again, cheers, ed.

Yes it's 1.1/8th steerer. I just meant a lot of people wouldn't get one as a main bike but it's a bit unfair as they are nice handling, light but durable frames. If it had been a 16" I'd have built it up myself.
I'll get pics tonight for you.

Lines

Thanks, lovely frame is that, nice clean lines, but I suspect the shipping would be an issue so I'll hold out for a look at Robs offer, thanks again, I hope somebody gets that frame who'll appreciate it, all the best.
