Wanted mid 90s rear mech

As above, rear mech required for mid 90s Gary Fisher. Long cage, Shimano Deore or better (if possible).

Would need to be able to work with seven speeds.

I have a 1994-1995 Sachs New Success, but it has always been working with 8 gears
Do you think it could work with 7 gears :?:

Have a very good Sachs Plasma, very light carbon and alloy, with matching front?
