Want to weigh your bike/parts/cat cheaply and accurately?!

That particular one, where you can hang what you are weighing from it, is handy for weighing a complete bike, but it's not ideal for bike parts though as it only reads to every 10g!

For parts, what you really need is a kitchen/postal type scales that reads up to say 2kg in 1g.

The one I have weighs to 1gr and 1oz.
Next day delivery too!

Edit! actually it does measure in 10g increments, but to be honest that's still accurate enough. Lets face it, most parts have more than that tolerance between the same parts. 10g is minute really especially in bike parts.

Mine measure in 5g down at the small weights and 10g at the larger weights.
You can pick up the 0.5g balances on ebay as well.
10g is loads in a sport where 45g can be 100 notes out of your pocket or a £10 bolt or £30 more for a chain with extra holes in it.

I'll not be losing any sleep over £4.50 and 10g at my recreational level! In theory the machine will round up & round down across a complete bike and its parts anyway so it'll 'in theory' average out.

And I now know my cat weighs 5.1kg +/- 10g.

i have one of these and a small flat scale that does up to 1kg in 0.1g increments. Perfect combo for weight weenie nerdery.

Possibly worth mentioning that you get a much more consistent reading if you hang the scale from a fixed point, door frame, garage roof joist or tree.
I use a digital scale for fishing, an you can get all sorts of readings when you just hold them up.

There's about as much point me weighing our cat as there is weighing my Dawes Galaxy. Neither is built for speed.
