Wagon Wheeled ramblings....

Had a few threads on here about my wagon wheels so though I would do an update on them all at once!

The Genesis

Have gone bouncy on the front with a SH recon Gold...kept this at 100mm which seems to suit the bike....and me!

During a ride a few weeks back I broke the front chainring...I guess the bolts must have loosened...dunno how I didn't notice... a couple of mile walk home...deffo couldn't bodge that although probably first walk ever...so not so bad after soooooo many years.

But gave an excuse to get an oval ring.....love them and has made a massive change...in my mind anyway...best bit is wheelies are easier to control.... I know i'm nearly 60 and should know better.....

Have a new chain and Sunrace cassette in the post as the gap made by the expander is in exactly the wrong place for me and where I ride.

Gratuitous pic to show the paint with no mud!

The chainring :-(

Also have swopped the stem from the SS (bit shorter) and back to the Ragley bars.

The Inbred has also a few tweaks, used it for commuting last year and it was a little undergeared so wanted a 36t..... and an oval one cropped up that no one bid on......lucky me.... and started my conversion to oval rings.

Also have changed to Avid BB7 cable disks....I like them and have them on my commuter and wife's bike, do the job and are reliable.

Other than new cassette and chain that's it.....the do anything bike.

The Singlespeed. On One Scandal frame bought on here, I like the Inbred and the Gary Fisher just felt a bit too big, mostly just swopped the stuff across and using the White Bros Carbon fork...really enjoying it...cannot see any tweaks in the near future.

So that's what keeps me occupied at the weekend.

I also have a 29er commuter based on a Gary Fisher frame.......but that shall never be seen :)

Re:

Like the look of the Genesis, and interested in the oval ring wheelies concept, guess it smooths out the power delivery?

Re:

Yup, I guess that's it, much more controllable, probably also because my pedaling is normally rubbish, even after all these years!
