Which retro tyres would you like reissued today ?

Problem you have got is that none of these people made the tyres, some other company did it for them.

Onza (tyres) made some amber in 26" and used the old names (iirc) a few years back and then suddenly stopped.
Onza (UK rock and roll) I think has the logo rights to Onza we know.

FirstFlight had a load of repros done at great expense.

Panasonic with the Smoke/Dart have the advantage of being a tyre manufacturer.

IRC was a manufacturer of tyres (still?) and made some Ritchey, Yeti etc

CST (good old Chen Shin) Taiwan made Onza tyres, Spesh, Ritchey,... no doubt made a lot of Taiwan made tyres.
And of course now have their own marketing brand name Maxxis.

It'll be quite a bit of money to setup the tyre stuff, make mold, test the tyres, brand them and then hope the few people wanting them buy them.

Figured that was probably the case. Whilst plenty of 26inch tyres being made for the world, just none of the ones we really would like.

The other issue brewing is also, so far between 30 of us we want 18 different tyres made 😂 so not the home run supporting info I was hoping for 🙈

Whilst top 4 so far seem to be:
- 9 votes: Michelin Wildgripper sprint in green tread/skin wall.
- 7 votes: Ritchey Megabite Z-Max black tread/skin wall.
- 7 votes: Specialized Ground Control, black tread/skin wall.
- 6 votes: Onza Racing Porc, white tread/skin wall.

So the worse, most slippery tyre is winning the poll. There is a reason it's called the WildSlipper.

Z-max was still being made until recently I think?
There was the Z-max pro evolution.

And porcs are shite, especially in white.
(I know the vote here is just to piss people off that are hording them ;-))

First Flight (Jeff) had panaracer make the Timbuk II iirc but pretty sure they got rid of the molds, maybe the other molds went too. Sure there was a topic on it somewhere.

First Flight had FJ's made too, in both 26" and 24"

So far, across my entire fleet, I have not had to resort to sourcing re-issue Smokes/Darts. But then again if i ever rode any of my bikes in anger I suppose the old rubber may not actually meet that level of demand!

Same, mine actually stay in the spares cupboard ready for when originals eventually pop. 😱

I’ve got 6 bikes with reissues on 🫣

It’s just that scabby tyres ruin a build when the rest is immaculate and decent tyres are hard to get.

I do however have Tioga wonder dawgs , Wildgripper sprints in green , IRC’s , Wildgripper lites all in great condition but it’s hard to find them

I have a pair of Z max black new in my Tox and the only thing I miss is the wide, today all are 2.1 or more and I use to assemble 1.8 wild grippers or 1.9 Schwalve like the one in my marin.

But the ones I would like to buy again were the Tioga Psycho II grey and amber walls like the ones the Scott pro racing 1995 equip and match any grey frame 😍

Are these them? I can't tell from the photos:

My vote has to be for the Velociraptors. I have the black wall version currently fitted to my Tequesta which in itself is not that interesting, however these tyres are a good 20+ years old with no cracks / splits which makes them oustandingly reliable. They must have hardened off a bit but the grip and bite are still good and I still trust them. Great tyres which have outlived every other tyre I have ever purchased be it road or off road. Would a reissue be as durable though?!
