has anyone else found this to be sh*te?? got a blow out on a nice new vittoria rallye front tub today thanks to the council leaving tons of gravel on my local B road training route. this happened of course, the instant i was thinking to myself, "these 21mm tubs are brilliant - not had a puncture since i converted from the 23mm ones!"

:?

anyhoo, i used the pit stop stuff as per instructions, blew the tub up, half the air leaked out of the hole on the tread, it eventually sealed, more air in, ride away to find ten mins later a soft front tyre!!

any suggestions for an alternative??

Effetto Caffe latex is meant to be the best for road applications.

Tho mixing sealants in tubs is a slightly high risk option!
You may end up with a solid lump of gunk as they react with each other!

I found to be a complete letdown - no pun intended. Difficult to estimate how much your putting into the tube, it gets all over the valve & rim, then if by chance it finds the cut it seems to struggle with staying there and as you say, within 10 minutes its almost flat again.

Haven't found a decent alternative so I'd be interested to read what others use....

Caffe latex is rubbish, it decants itself over your frame and goes a nasty brown colour. Hell to get off and doesn't seal a road tub at all. Speaking from first hand experience.

Continental do a latex and I'm running that at the moment in Continental gator skin tubs at 120 psi. Done a few thousand kms with no punctures, which is a far better result than last season where I had a flat every three weeks.

Fair enough!
I've never used tubs, except for racing. And putting sealant in a £60+ race day only tub seems a bit daft.

UM,

As not too many people appear to have looked at my link previously - TRY BLOODY WATER!!!!
