Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX

The Open Corsas and Veloflex Pave are very similar IME, but best kept for dry spells or for those glorious days in the Alps or Pyrenees, particularly with a latex tube the closest thing you'll get to a tubular. Next are the likes of Michelin ProRace or Conti GP4000s - not quite as supple but a little more durable. Tougher still are performance training tyres like Krylions or Ultremo DDs - been riding the DDs since winter and whilst they look like they've been fitted by Edward Scissorhands, have yet to puncture. GP4 Seasons are tougher still but ride 'heavy' IME. Gatorskins fit somewhere between the GP4000 and GP4Season.

Just to throw a spanned in the works I have put a good few miles on my open corsa's with conti supersonic 50grm tubes with no issues. Devon country lane riding dodging the hedge cuttings, rubbish Brighton road & cycle lane pot holes, Sunday morning bottle glass smatterings, emergency kerb hopping avoiding drunks/smackheads at 20mph with no issues.
Tyre pressure/rider weight makes a huge difference to tyre wear / durability though.

Going by this 'lucky streak' I'm going to risk some 160grm vittoria pista evo ps11 track tubs for a Sunday best lightweight build.
THAT will probably end in tears though

well I've bought them so I'll have to see how they last...i ride conti 4000s on my Carbon bike and picked up more than my fair share of punctures...should I run the Vittorias pumped up to the max or my usual 110?
