Vintage looking cork brake pads

Hi Guys,

I’ve done a search but didn’t have any luck finding an answer for this. I’m building up a 1940’s Maclean, which has GB hidiminium brakes and wooden CB italia rims. Can anyone advise if it’s possible to buy cork brake pads that look period correct i.e. fit in the GB shoe or similar? I can find plenty of modern lo-profile cork pads that will work (zipp etc) but they’d look terrible.

Or should I just cut up a few wine bottle corks?

I found that the leather faced pads found mainly nowadays on bikes with side pull calipers and steel rims work perfectly well for maple/cane rims.....most LBS should have them if not then eBay search where I'm sure you'll find them
