A 1946 René Herse £5600 buy it now on eBay. I'm guessing that this is the ultimate one for the collection of French Fancies...is it a fair price..?

I couldn't afford it. I suppose it is fair if you can afford or need it. You won't find another just post war RH easily, the parts appear correct. I stand to be corrected obviously if not correct parts. I'm glad it's not my size, beautiful. EDIT no brake hoods, still beautiful

This looks like a later one and went way over the estimate but by the time you add on tax and buyer's premium not too far away..

Complete with sheared off stud in the brake mount, damaged front guard, with holes for the rack? The other seems much better value I suppose an actors bike might make more, looked a little big for him though.

You'd definitely need a decent lock, wouldn't want it to disappear without a trace...

Gnome Rhone, propeller motif on head badge. They did indeed make aircraft engines and motorcycles.
