Vintage Campag BB Compatibility

Is that BB symmetrical? At 111 mm Could be a tight squeeze on the chain stay on the drive side chain rings especially if it's short wheelbase without much of a flute on the chain stay.

Re:

I would say no, the Nuovo Record used either 113 or 115 mm axles, the 111 mm is for Record C, Chorus etc in other words the next generation.

Re:

[Nuovo] Record Strada (1049/A) cranks need an asymmetric BB. Exactly which BB depends on when the crank was manufactured (pre- or post-CPSC).

A = middle section
B = NDS
C = DS

Total length pre-CPSC = 110mm (English)
Total length post-CPSC = 112.5 (English)

Note that AIUI pre-94 Campagnolo chainsets used something more like a JIS taper than ISO. Post-94 they moved to ISO. So if you're using a non-Campagnolo BB with an ISO taper for a 1049/A crankset you may need to go up a couple of mil on each side to get the right chainline and Q-factor. Can't confirm this as I haven't tried.

Lifted from the description of the current Campag Centaur square taper BB:

The Campagnolo Centaur Square Taper Bottom Bracket will not fit older Campagnolo Nuovo or Super Record road cranks which require a 115mm spindle with a 5mm drive side offset. All newer Campagnolo bottom brackets are symmetrical and lack and drive side offset.
