I have ended up with downtube shifters for the present, will road test it and see how it feels.
But thanks all for the input.
It may resurface sometime.

I think some misunderstood my plan.
It wasn't for two sets of bars, it was a trimmed bar to carry gear changers.

Anyhow, done now, actually the cockpit is a little cluttered even with brake cables without gear change as well.
I had hoped to get the brake cables under the grab-on but that proved very awkward.
