Are you able to tell us who that was made for Jeff? As it's coming from you, I'm assuming it's a genuine product of the Fat Chance factory - if it was anybody else, I'd assume it was a fake mocked up to amuse a little one.

I'm a little disappointed that you haven't commented on the historical significance of the design innovations there - e.g., the saddle : top tube ratio is the biggest I've ever seen.

Never seen rear brake boses mounted so low before.

Way cool bike though...great idea for a kids BOTM

It has a great back story. The owner of the bike posted to a thread on the bike over in the vrc; here's one of his posts quoted:

Hey Everyone, new to the site. Also i am the owner of this bike.

i would first off like to thank Jeff from First Flight for setting this all up.

as for the Baby Fat Chance, its 100 percent legit, built in 1987/88 at the Fat City Cycles in Somerville MA, by my father Lamont Smith, he was an original employee of Fat City and built this for me when i was 3 years old. Ive had the bike basically my whole life. My father and i rode all over the North Shore and Boston. the only piece of the bike that is not original is the back tire, as i got older and started riding BMX my friends and i thought the bike was so fun and ended up busting the back tire, we were far too big for the bike at that point. But other than that the bike is exactly the same as it came out of the shop in Sullivan Square. My father, Lamont Smith was a welder at Fat City and he built the bike over about a 3 week span after hours and during breaks.

If you have any questions please feel free, any kind of additional pictures can be taken if the are certain areas you would like to see better.

Thanks
Baby Fat / Ian Smith
