Ok, so I ordered a new square taper bottom bracket for my proflex 552 from http://www.velodromeshop.net/
I needed a 118mm version asap. I ordered their Track Elite bottom bracket with the following spec -
'Handmade by our award winning technicians, using high quality polished Alloy Cups from Acor with a Hollow Cromoly Axle by FSA and sealed Ceramicspeed cartridge bearings'
What I received yesterday has a cheap solid steel axle with VP bearings.
I emailed them this morning at 10 am to tell them they had sent the wrong item.
I got an email back at 16:00 stating 'You have received the correct Bottom Bracket, should you not be happy with the product that you have received, we accept Returns under the conditions of our Returns Policy - http://www.velodromeshop.net/index.php? ... d=Returns'
?? I know the difference between a solid and hollow axle! I've emailed back with photos of the bottom bracket. Their returns policy states I have to pay the postage costs to send it back. In the email I have told I won't pay because it was their mistake. I've asked for the correct item or a refund of the difference between their standard square taper bottom bracket.
If they won't do either I'll contact my credit card company for a full refund.
Now waiting to hear back. Has anyone else on here used this place? and how did you get on?
