Using new hope vented discs on older / different calipers

I ve got some new hope vented rotors they are twice as thick as standard basically there is one disc either size of the floating part

They are too thick to fit between the pads in my calliper does anyone know if they can be used with any other calipers I m told shimano made some vented Xt brakes in 2007 so perhaps that could be an option
Either that or find a caliper that gas a generous pad spacing

Don't think shimano have made vented discs. Not like that anyway. Pretty sure you're restricted to the hope brakes, or modifying existing calipers to give better clearance.

Can you not get hope callipers?

Alternative is to make spacers with o rings to seal the brake fluid passageways. Some calliper a eg avid are two part

I think the Hope vented rotors will only work with Hope V2/ V4 brakes, I had some a couple of years ago, V2 calipers with Tech Evo levers.

Re. Spacing calliper, avid elixir and xx are two part held together with two bolts, one of which is the hollow bolt for the bleed screw and hose, that may present a problem as it will be too short..

Shimano deore m447, two piece so can be spaced out, hose entry and bleed nipple are drilled into body so no issues as with avid.
£15 on ebay.

Piece of alloy plate of required thickness, longer m6 bolts, an o ring some drilling and filing of the plate and job done.
And if youre wondering, its what willwood do to fit thin and thick vented discs.

Not quite that simple.
The calliper body may need to move out so with post mount the slots may not be wide enough, with IS mount the lugs with the threaded holes for mounting need to be thinned down. So it depends on how much thicker the vented discs are and poisition compared to normal disc.

Just out of interest how thick are they?

FWIW the ice tech rotor are pretty much the same thickness as stock. 1.8-2mm.
Hope vented are either 3.2/3.6 ish from what i remember. Maybe even 4.

Takes me back to the good old days of spacing Austin Princess 4 pot calipers to fit 2.8 Capri discs on Bilstein legs for old Escorts...
