Useful tip to remove a headset if frame gets in the way

I recently found myself with a strange problem.

When trying to remove some headset cus using the proper tool, no dice. Why? Well the headset cups perfectly lines up with the internal butting on the headset, meaning the tool was expanding against the frame and not the cup.

Hmm, what to do?

Carefully placed screwdriver? May have worked as I wasn't too fussed about saving the headset, but could have damaged the frame.

Lightbulb moment.

Using a crown race removal tool around the headset cups, I was able to use it to get between the frame and headset. Still no real purchase for the headset tool, so with some even tapping on the crown race tool with a hammer, I was able to slowly move the headset cups outward to the point I could use the headset removal tool to do it's job.

No frame damage. No headset damage.

First time I'd actually used the crown race tool, obviously not as intended but it's served a new purpose over what it was intended for.

Thought I'd share in case anyone has come across or comes across this challenge in the future and needs a solution.
