I'm glad lads new bike is Shimano 12 speed (although early days) as we found SRAM Eagle 12 to be less that durable.

I ran 10 speed XO for a winter and it wasnt at all durable.TBH Shimano M970 gear is one of the most durable and bulletproof Ive used over the last 8 years and the consumables are dirt cheap,Sunrace wide range cassettes and chains can be had for handy money and are tough as old boots.
