i totaly agree, but why was i reading your email, in a manner similar of a Jane Austin novel....

I found myself imagining that the guy from "Points of View" was reading the letter.

I agree that his attitude was totally out of order but he'll just get negative feedback anyway.

Tbh I've straightened rear mechs several times and they've worked OK afterwards. That may be the case with this one. It may well work fine but without seeing how badly it was damaged originally it's difficult to say.

I'd send that off the the local press, see if a bit of bad publicity doesnt get a printed apology out of them, but i fear they'll say the buyer seemed happy or turn out some other lame excuse :?

I’m also shocked and appalled - it seems you’re admitting to have read Jane Austin! ;)

I haven't read the article, haven't read the mag' for years (it's just a tool of the industry and the same old stuff every month anyway) but they do sound like a bunch of p**s-taking self-satisfied c*cks.

The guys attitude toward the buyer is pretty weak and their Twitter page does seem to reflect that the comment is getting a lot of negative feedback.

That said 'sold as seen' is surely sales speak for fubar'ed? I'd not touch a bike part sold as seen unless I wanted it for a door stop.

Surely every used bike part is sold as seen though?

I reckon if he'd read Jane Austen, he'd know how to spell her name...

;)

And no, I haven't.

It's used a lot in the used car market, i take it to mean that anything you find wrong with the car after the sale is tough cheese, i have wrote sold as seen and tested on receipts for cars i've sold before, doesn't mean it's a bad car just means there is no warranty of any kind and the buyer should check carefully at time of sale.

Cant see how it can apply here though or with anything bought on the strength of a photograph and a description.

The seller deliberately ripped someone off.
