Unknown steel frame

Can anyone tell by the following details and the attachment what brand is it:

Size: 18"
TopTube: 21.5"
ChainStay: 16.5"

no, but

There is nothing stemped on the frame but the serial no.
I spoke with friend of mine, whom use to work for a local bike shop, and he told me that it must be a marin.
now, i find myself looking for an early models pictures of marin, to match up the geometry.
any more tips...?

btw
I have just finished sand clean it and repaint the frame in light green.
I will post some pictures later.

highly unlikely that its a marin frame because the cable guides are on the top tube.
 
Are you keeping the serial number a secret?

Larger, clear pictures of the details of the bike would help.
