Rich , I can't believe your going to mod a seat post for your pace given past history on seat tubes

Loctite high strength retainer (826 I think ) is the one ,I "glue "all sorts together with it never had an issue yet

Thanks Mike, I know, I'm mad, funnily enough, the guys at Kia Ora sheet metal who repaired my frame, are hopefully doing the seatpost extension

I'll look into that glue you recommended, thanks for the heads up

Okay, here it is, very pleased with how it turned out, pretty simple machining job, same diameter internal and follows the same exterior diameter, it's heavy but pretty happy it'll never break, finally got my Mavic seatpost sorted
