Un branded MTb.

My Missus has an un branded MTb brought for her in 2000, it has full shimano xt groupset and v brakes, uno seat post, rock shox forks and Mavic 255 rims, does anyone have any idea what the bike may be? rrp on it was £1200, but it was on sale for £600.
Im normally pretty good with late 90's to modern stuff but im stumped on this one.

me thinks its a marin frame i had one that had the triangle tube i think carrera did a triangle tubed frame as well.

The triangle tubing does look very Marin. Although the only thing I would say is that the main tubes look a little thick to be Marin?

I thought the same to be honest, year wise and spec wise its the same as a couple of the high spec marin's the Team Marin for instance its just like you say the tubbing looks too thick. :?: and just overlaying a pic of one with the pics i have the tubes dont match, so back to square one

First place i looked . Its filled over and im not gonna start taking the paint off unless i have to.
The story goes that she got it so cheap as no one would buy it from the bike shop as it was unbranded and had no serial numbers. I said it has to be hookey or a dogger frame but she was given a warranty etc when she purchased it and it has pretty high spec parts on it for the year so who knows??? one of you guys on here i hope
