I think that was the LFGSS angle: it only takes a couple of bad actor ‘campaigns’ to put the owner at risk. (On this site that could equate to a concerted spam attack of 11-51 rear cassette pictures ……)

Suspect that in reality it will be a law that’s very difficult to monitor or enforce at a small scale level. The costs of any filtering and monitoring requirements for the site might be a thing though.

Personally think here is OK.

Nothing get's left to run riot here thanks to the mods and astute contributors with a sense of too much is too much.

Almost shocking scope of legislation, but not surprising in my eyes in these times. I hope common sense prevails here and for LGFSS and they continue and we re-call what the initial essence of "why" was about. Sense of community and sharing about a humble bicycle.

Nothing more, nothing less. No conspiracy or undercurrents.

This kinda legislation has wide ranging effects on both society and the nations finances. Its irresponsible of the government to allow such things...

To start with, if you all have only your wives to talk at about bikes, the divorce rate will soar.

How's that going to help! Although the rise in tax revenue from the sale of ready meals for 1 will probably balance thing up.

The guidance seems to require due diligence, not 100% success and, as for website owners' liability, it sounds like a business opportunity for the insurance trade. It's a concern, not a reason for alarm.

If it came to it, I'd write the RB risk assessment myself. I'm sure there are others on here, too, who would be more than capable of writing that up.

We've got to face the fact that any online forum could be taken over by hate or perv extremists in a very short time, then be used to promote that content.
The law is just establishing legal responsibility - so the overseers can't just say:
"Oh I haven't looked for ages i had no idea..."

Now they must just copy and paste Facebook and x style
" blah does not tolerate blah blah blah"

I don't think telegram even bothers with denial.
