U-Brakes - what levers?

I'm trying to plan my Korakoram build rather than runing headlong into it, buying anything in sight that might be useful, and ending up with a ton of bits left over.

Aside from forks and ahead stem (wanted ad out), I'm not sure about brakes as the rear is configured for u-brakes. What levers are best working with u-brakes? Currently I'm thinking of running M900 up front as I thought I'd need canti-lever levers, but it has been a long time since I touched a u-brake, I think I'd better confirm with the experts on here.

Standard canti levers are fine

I run various type of cantilever brakes, mostly from the 80's, with my different u-brakes. No problem, though I've never run m900 specifically with a u-brake....still shouldn't be a problem.

I've run v brakes up front and a u brake with V brake levers, worked fine for me on the Haro Extreme.

But I am prepared to hear that it's not worked for some...
