Tyres on retro bikes

Mt Proflex had hardly been ridden and the rear Velociraptor looked like new! The front had no wear but was splitting on the side walls so I looked for a replacement. Black V/raptors were available but I wanted amber wall so got a Panaracer Dart from Ebay which is great. It's got the look and grips fine. Funnily enough BITD my mates and I had Smoke/dart tyres then moved on to the V/raptor, now I've gone the other way.

Halfrauds were knocking out Schwalbes Annoyed Ron for £1 each. Doubt that will happen again.

My neighbour bought a load with click and collect.

Couldnt really care less about amberwall though and just chose tyres that will still fit within the stays.

As for bike shops that that say 'nobody rides 26 anymore', walk out and never darken their doorstep again, they dont deserve you as a customer.

Have a read of this one Jim. It's as near as someone is offering a 'new' Amberwall.

Up the budget and go for a pair or Terrance's T1's - without guys doing this, The Amberwall will be purely for show.

Just my opinion

They look great and I would love to support him but I can't see a way to actually buy them? The crowdfunding campaign has ended and the website - https://www.rideterraone.com just links to that. Something to keep an eye on for the future I guess.

I use the Charge Splash Back Tire, perfect amber wall color and you can even Ghetto tubless them to make your retro ride, ride like a modern bike.

I have old tires but...I like my face too much to ride 30 year old rubber or handlebars!

Nope. Hopeless tread and they wear out pretty quick.

I ride whatever seems cheapest. I never use amberwall. I like most schwable tyres for price and decent durability.
