I remember the original screen had a section at the bottom listing who was on the site at that time and peak members, new members etc?????

It's still there at the bottom of the forum list page, tells you who's online, how many members/threads/messages and who the newest member is.
On a wider scale, I would be interested if the RB management were a bit more transparent with stuff like this.
Fully agree - the 98+ should actually be much more active. The scope in terms of type of bike is practically unlimited too. What was discussed earlier about knowledge etc., I feel quite a knowledge gap is opening up for +98 bikes too. The 20 year old bikes are now fundamentally an old bike and can probably can be picked up for cheap - around the corner a lot of these most likely won't be able to be modernised either judging by how the industry is hell bent in it's trajectory.
Really hope an (alternative?) generation / crowd comes along and does attempt to save and document some of this. Ensure it just was not a disposable element for a brief time.
PS: ...... is there a problem with the PM service? I still haven't received a flood of requests to buy a FD-M565.
I think it’s too far gone now to attract them. They all use social media groups instead and it would be very hard to tempt people back to a forum.
When I take up a new hobby , buy a new toy or need info around a particular subject I go straight to fb groups. I can’t remember the last forum I joined. But I continue to use the forums which I’ve been a member for many years but I doubt I’ll join any new ones ever.
I still think the hobby is very much alive but just back to the way it was pre covid.
Longevity of the forum is different topic altogether though which is why I was interested in the statistics of people joining and daily users.
Yeh I’m aware of that section. But it would be interesting to download the data for each year on new members and active users. To see if it’s declining or not.

I tend to join the fb groups also, particular brand specific groups for bikes, or cars. Most car groups seem to be for complaining about problems they are experiencing rather than for general discussion, and nearly all questions asked are met with a response of "try searching, this has been asked/answered a million times" - and subsequently I tend to search the groups firstly before raising a question, and yep the answers tend to be there. Very little in the way of chat.
Also see a fair number of bot responses if fb groups such as "reach out to [insert store name], they have those" which is just a wild goose chase. Pretty sure we are getting bot responses on here too.

Can you filter by section. That would be more telling. Remove off topic for a start. Then jokes…..

I would say considering we're all discussing this issue, it's fairly active. I think all contributions form part of a forum, irregardless of section posted. There is nearly always something interesting on here to read or participate in. Long may it continue.

I'm not sure how one would differentiate between 'human' traffic and bots rendering any new member stats useless.
