Tubeless on old clinchers.

Has anyone successfully set up tubeless on normal clinchers? I don’t mind a walk but not if I’m out for a ride 🥲

It can be done, but imo it's a bit of a "ghetto" bodge job, and it really depends on the tyre & rim being used, using more modern tubeless compatible tyres helps.
If you don't ride the bike regularly it's probably not worth the effort in my opinion, just use decent inner tubes & make sure the tyres are in good condition. You could even try those slime filled inner tubes that you can buy.
The only bike I've persisted with tubeless on is my modern hardtail bike, and that's only really to stop pinch flats when blasting down rocky descents, that's with wheels & tyres designed to run tubeless. All my other bikes just have regular tubes in them, and to be honest I very very rarely get a puncture.

I'm going to chuck some Joe's Elite sealant in the tubes and see how I get on. Tyres are new and tubes are decent.. Just attack of the thorns last night it was. Spoils the fun!

If you want to tubeless, it's a tubeless-ready tyre & rim.
I don't care what the Gorilla Tape fanboys say it's not safe in any other combination!
Yeah few years ago I had a (normal) tyre blow off the rim whilst on the bike stand & pumping it up trying to seat the tyre, got a face full of sealant goo and ringing in my ears the rest of the day🤣
Lesson learned that day! Tubeless compatible rims & tyres only for me & tubeless since then.
