Compressor
Turn the power off at the mains and or remove the plug from the socket.
Remove the drive belt/s and the belt cover or cage. Get hold of the motor pulley and rotate to check for free rotation. Turn the compressor pulley to check for free rotation. Do they rotate freely?
If it's still not obvious what's wrong, then try running the motor with the belts still off (this is called a motor light run...). If the motor runs OK and the fuse is OK then the problem is more likely to be the compressor (not quite that simple but a good bet).
Check the condition and level of the compressor crank case oil. How often do you need to top it up?
