Tricky stump removal- any pointers ?

The 440 is extremely capable🤠
20" bar normally, 30 if I'm in amongst the big boys, although that's pushing it in terms of power output and manageability.

I'm not happy dealing with a trunk that's wider than my bar is long, so to speak. 🤔
Hence the large tool...

I've got a ripping bar and chain too for making lintels or gateposts out of substantial fallen timber😃

Sadly my spine's impacted discs take unkindly to more than a quarter of an hour of extreme vibration/ stress.
We fell with trunks twice the length of the bar, using thrust cuts and wedges.
It’s a great, precise technique which can be used on ‘leaners’.

And in terms of oiling - have your mod’d the auto chain oiler? A longer bar requires a higher oil flow of course, and a much longer bar can cause inadequate oiling

I did fit a new pump last winter, the oil feed adjuster is maxed out as a rule - I refill the oil every time I do the fuel, expecting it to be half gone.

Stihl bio plus
- every rodent in my garden loves it -

I have to keep it in a tin bucket or they eat through the bottle until it spills out everywhere
