Well - that didn't take too at all to sort!
Seems a 2011 frame - that runs 26" wheels - is unlikely to run a X0 triple-ring crank???
Really?
Anyway - having established that my frame is part of a small batch of frames that don't take the standard Trek BB90/95 bearings - and having had to wait for the larger V2 bearing to be ordered.....
The LBS fitted my X0 cranks to find that when you put the cranks in up to the Non Drive side bearing - there's still a fair bit of crank shaft poking out of the drive side. I had mentioned this when I took it in - but was told in no uncertain terms that the right bearing would fix it - although I couldn't see how.
So several calls to Trek UK shed no light on the matter - so they called in Trek USA - would said it was fine - just stick two 2.5mm spacers on the drive side ?!?
So I got the frame back with the cranks fitted - but they don't seem to spin that easily
With a little bit of luck the build will now make a bit of progress.....
superlative!
I've always loved the 26"xc-race with "fat" tire...
with less spacers under the stem it probably looks so damny race, but probably too uncomfortable...
amazing bike!
