Toying with the idea of selling my old train set, (there's a lot more of it includingtrack ) anyone recommend an auction house or dealer anywhere, thanks,

I'd sell the track as a job lot on ebay and the loco's separate its what I did with my dads collection. Sold some 3rail track not so long ago didn't make a fortune compared to the N gauge track I sold or the OO/HO

Agree with kingbling here - the track won't sell for all that much, but if you go to a specialist toy & collectable dealer/auction house you should do OK on the locos. I wouldn't trust eBay as a price guide for rolling stock - there is some ropey, common as muck stuff on there that gets a hideous mark-up and is often listed as "rare" or just plain badly described. In short, a rip-off for unwary buyers.

The LMS tank engine is probably the rarest of the bunch pictured, the rest pop up on the S/H market quite often but should still sell easily. "Bristol Castle" was a sensation back in the day, blurring the boundary between kids' toys and detailed scale models, and has stood the test of time well.
