Re: Worth a Punt?

I've got MBUK with ads for these from '96. About £350 to £400 or so dependent on kit. Always thought they looked pretty cool.

Re:

For £15.00 its a usable pub bike.

The sort of thing that wouldnt get stolen if you left it outside a shop.

They werent great by any means, and most needed alignment straight out of the box when new, but they did advertise in MBUK.

Your Townsend would feel like a Rolls Royce by comparison.

Re:

I suppose the question I would ask is whether the bike offers something different, and worthwhile, from what you've already got. If not, I can't see how it's worth it. If it's just a cheap bike you want, I would probably look for a low end bike from one of the big name brands - Marin, Specialized, or whatever - because even if the components and tubing are lower end, at least the geometry is usually good.

Thinking about it Daewoo cars weren't that great and I've got a decent pub bike. As suggested I'll look for something better for my next project. Thanks for putting me right.

Decided to hang fire for the moment. Winter's on it's way and I work outside on the bikes so it will have to wait until Spring.

I'm dharn sarf in Southampton by the way.
