Whatever happened to the planned Retrobike top trumps idea? It seemed to be a popular idea, as there wasn't anything else like it at the time, but now there is:

Saw these in the "place tatt just at the eye height of the bored kids in the queue while parents wait to pay for their new waterproof jacket and snood, and we will sell them in their hundreds" basket while at Evans yesterday with the Mrs (i know, Evans is evil, but she wanted a new helmet and they have a better range than many other bike shops

Not sure if they came out in 1982, but modern slingshots (which is clearly what's in the picture) would have 30 gears indeed.
