Just so happens i had some worn sealed bearings lying around that are same od as shimano bb.
The gxp is 2 mm smaller.
Knock out the bearing innards and use dremel sanding cylinder to remove the race until it slips over the gxp bb splines.
It appears the race coincides with the bb bearing so hopefully be a better fix than my previous conversion which used a strip of metal.
