What bothers me is that there is NO cycling show.

Think how popular it would be!!

For example,
Gary fisher as Jeremy Clarkson
Lance Amrstrong as Richard Hammond
Chris Boardman as James May/Captain slow!!!!!!

And not forgetting Vicoria Pendleton in the Vikki B-H role :D

Unfortunatley she's not in Top Gear, she is in 5th Gear. :?
We could have her as the Stig though!......Or Missy Giove!!

Barry

Don't get the criticism of this episode IMO the Senna stuff really sparked emotion and was genuinly interesting

Now that is what we want.
I'd make a good 'Clarkson' I'd upset more people than him too

I don't really get why anyone who dislikes a programme so much would keep watching it? It's like saying I hate seafood but then buying it for dinner every Sunday! Mental!

Because I hate it less than nearly all the other programmes on television. I only watch some comedy programes and the odd documetary. Comedy has always been hit and miss, but I think the standard of documantaries has plummeted in the past decade or so. There's the odd good one for adults, but most seem to be very juvenile, all flashy graphics and CGI and no substance, or lots of shots of the presenter looking whistful, windswept and intersting and a lot of padding and re-caps. Even Horizon, which used to be a serious programme tackling some quite complex topics and quite densely packed with information has turned into a padding fest, so much so that I watch it on iPlayer, watch the first 10 minutes to get the premise, then skip all the waffle to the last 10 minutes to hear the summary. My pet peeve is when there are several articles within a programme and they keep cutting back and forth with a "more on that later", then re-capping, ffs, I can remember what was said ten minutes ago, there's no need to go over it all again.

Rant over, deep breath - and relax. :D

But i do love the Stig. Who ever he is. Great driver. Worth watching the show for

Xerxes, when I read your comments you remind me (spookily) of me.

Whatever happened to Horizon? Used to be the best thing on TV.

And Perry, come on man, are you trully that hard to please?!
There's nothing uninteresting about a 1.6 million car being thrashed, no matter how much you dislike the looks of it and whomever is driving it.
'Oh look, a £1.6 million mega car at top speed. Yawn'
Its not about whether you like the car or presenter, its all about the feat/spectacle.

And to say the Senna article was merely good footage reassembled is nuts...it was great footage no matter what!
The on and off board footage of Senna was 100% stunning. Ive never seen driving like it...Monaco was breathtaking.

Whinging about not seeing Hamilton thrash the Maclaren is merely detracting from the fact in Hamiltons own words that he was stunned how hard and dangerous and terrifying it would be to drive (the priceless car) flat out.
That statement alone gave the Senna footage even more kudos.

Not now, no.

But VBH used to be on Top Gear, before she moved to 5th Gear. Same for Tiff, Quentin Wilson.

Totally agree, the Senna footage made that the best episode. Okay, it's all edited footage but f**k me does it put most of the F1 you see today in the shade, makes me realise why I hardly watch it anymore where as back in the 90s I was glued to it!

Noticed a lot of Youtube interest in Senna footage (myself included) after Top Gear however I did see quite a few bad posts etc. regarding the crash and steering column failure/Williams cover up :(
