Had three carbon full sussers starting back ito
97 and never had an issue with any of them. Have broken an aluminium full suss and a steel hardtail, funnily both on the seat tube a couple of inches above the bb.
Back in the day, carbon was in its infancy and there were a lot of bad products about, but the product is pretty sorted now. All about correct use of materials and whether any benefits are worth the extra cost. TBH in most cases for the likes of us, it’s not. Doesn’t mean I don’t want it.
