Too fat for a Retrobike?

I'm token skinny tall guy then! I tried to cut down on food thats no good for me (bad habits) while the GF followed slimming world plan this year. and even though I was only about 11st 10, i weighed in at 11st 5 yesterday, so its come off somewhere!
my point is a lifestyle change goes a long way, GF has shed 16lbs since new year eating healthily and sensibly with not a lot of exercise. IMO its intake or excercise that makes differences, A light bike will do a lot for teh mojo and the waist line IMO, remember I'm still slow as hell compared to our RB whippets so i too need to get out there. Crazy thing is though, I went through all the overbuilt bikes thing, BMX - nu skool fun MTB bikes, and they are way overbuilt for me strangling the energy fun and feel a lot of the time. I'm now craving lightness and fastness again, but I am nervous training up on a 4.5lbs pre used frame but meh its all in the mind I'm sure, so long as I remember its an XC bike I'll be fine. 12st is nowt for a bloke.

The only things that make me nervous (apart from road bikes :p ) is weedy bars and stems, oh and wheels steerers too, they can bend and snap when their time is up even under a lite dude and its never fun.

*finishes Kit kat and searches for some Maxi Muscle*

Hey Barney

I am 6ft and 18 stone and i ride a Proflex and its never even squeaked at me. Go full Suss and you will be fine!

At the end of the day the sport is great fun and will never change and the more you ride the more you lose!!!!!!!

Well cheers all, didn't have any issue with my weight until I got all this support....now I'm concerned I'm a bat fastard!!!

I was just surprised at what this frame builder wrote, I guess he's just covering his own rather large butt in case he gets sued.

Will leave the full suspension to the modern bike, retrobike will be rigid!

I know, i was 20 stone up to 2 months ago but i have been running and cycling so much the weight has been falling off!

Like i tell the girls, that 18 stone to bang the small fella in!!!!!!! (It used to be that i had a bum like a rabbit!!!)
