Here is a Tommasini Tecno bike I built for my last girlfriend.
I actually finished it after it was over so I put downtube shifters on it.
I knew it wouldn't get much maintenance and certainly not any changing of shifter cables. My experience tells me you can shift DT shifters many moons after ergo shifters has packed up. I like the bike a lot.
It is a 52cm frame.
9-speed Dura Ace
Campa Record headset
Mavic Helium wheels
3T Prima 220 bars.
Ringle cages.

The spacers were temporary until I knew how the bike fit. The stem is stiff, strong and beautiful

Maybe it's just me - but it's more out of place on an Italian bike than the Dura-Ace is.

It IS a nice stem. It just seems out of context here.

But don't get me wrong - it is a small detail, I am nitpicking and it IS a NICE bike.

I've got a silver ITM stem that would suit this build a lot better - I just need to find the forks to make it surplus to requirements and you can have it for the postage.

Ahh.. I see what you mean about it being out of place.
If we look at the bike as a piece of (Italian) art I totally agree

But when I build bikes I don't care so much about where the parts come from as much as how they work
