Nice Toei, although it looks a bit burly for a cyclocross frame and the price is ... robust.

From my memory of being in Japan at that time (and riding in the only annual cyclo-cross series bitd) Toei were more of a touring / pass-hunting frame. Never saw a 'crosser riding one...

Tubeset and clearances all look mtb - I assume the bosses are for 700, hence the cx designation, although that back end looks 135 and cx then was usually 130, so they could fit their spare roady wheels in the back?

Hard to say, the bosses on the rigid fork look 700c, but no way to know for sure. I think it is a misnomer.
