You only need to set Maguras up once, that's the thing. No more pad toeing in, cable fraying, cable replacement, etc etc.

For most people Maguras are unfamiliar, so they take a lot of time to set them up. I have 4 magura bikes and so fitting them is simpler as I have had the practice...

If you have ever done cantis with post-style pads, they are a doddle. I guess that now there are a whole generation who have never had to maintain low-pro cantis!

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, I think there is a lot of folklore/bullshit about Magura's that puts people off....spend half hour getting them setup right and go ride your bike. I've had sets on for 10 years and only ever changed pads. They only need bleeding if you break a hose and get air into the system (very unlikely). They are cool brakes :)

They don't wreck rims any quicker than other rim brakes, they work very well, who cares if they are ugly and heavy, brakes are a practical solution and not eye candy/weight weenie stuff IMHO.

If you don't like Magura's and moan about getting crap in your cables fit a set of Gore RideOn cables to canti's or V's and ride through as much shit as you like.
