Titanium Raleigh Dyna Tech RSP retro MT4 frame 17"

Currently £92, which makes the £55 that one sold for on here a couple of days ago look positively cheap!

What's the story behind this particular bike? Is it a worth while and worthy bike in terms of cool retroness?

I always liked these. They were nice and light and rode very well. But going back to the time when i first worked in a bike shop the main problem with these was they tended to to come apart at the chainstay/bb junction. The bonding just failed.
This one looks in good nic though. Worth asking the question about the lugs.

It is true that a few early Dynatechs de-bonded but I think I'm right in saying that this was a problem with very early frames, ie pre 1991 and Raleigh jumped on it pretty quickly to resolve the issue. The serial number of a Dynatech starts with A, B, or C... denoting 1990, 1991, 1992 and so on; So if you look for a 'c' frame you're not going to have any trouble, but lets be honest, how reliable is any 20yr old MTB frame from an unknown source??

As for retro coolness, they're British, Titanium (mostly), early 90's, bonded and lots of them have cool paint jobs... what could be cooler?

I wonder what emoticon best expresses the smugness I feel for having just bought the one on the for sale page?
Probably this one.  :p
