MT4 = titanium main tubes 2125 frameset, ti chainstay, MnMo seatstay

M-Trax Ti models (at least my Ti4000 from 1994) had titanium top and
diagonal tube with CrMo seat tube. I think this frameset was also used for
certain Dyna-Tech frames too, known as 2120 frameset.

I have a Taurus XT , welded Ti frame made out of IMI Alloy ( 6%) aluminium) 1994 se pick showing fatigue failure on seat tube. I have seen others crack round the weld ( whene quite new). they where made by X-LITE and the fault is due to "Cold Overlap" on the weld". There is also an Alu alloy sleeve inserted at the top of the seat tube which could have prevented the stress concentration if it had been a little stronger. Raleigh would not honour the Warranty even with receipt showing I was orig owner. List the bike was £1400 a lot in 94. Times change.

Bringing up an old thread... I have a question. Is this m trax currently for sale on eBay made from titanium or is it it coloured cromo with a titanium name?...

If it is TI then is it a dodgy, cheap weak one or would it be ok?
Looking at it for my wife.
