GT Lightning that has been languishing in my loft for ages. This is a GT 18'' frame, I believe the same geometry as the Xizang. I have owned and ridden them both and can't tell the difference when in the saddle.

I think these bikes were only produced for a couple of years and only as complete bikes. The original components will be kicking around somewhere but at the moment I cannot lay my hands on them so am putting just the frame up for sale. If any prospective purchaser is interested in the original components I will make more of an effort to find them and am sure we can come to some agreement for the purchase of them.

I have left the headset including the crownrace in the frame as it is virtually unused and a decent quality sealed bearing one. It will save any purchaser the hassle of fitting one, however if they want it removed its no problem. The seatclamp and post are not included, they are just to clamp the frame for the photos. I have also just wiped the dust from the frame not polished it at all. As you can see from the photos it has not had a hard life retaining its original decals and stickers even down to the old Caratti Sports one the GT UK importer at the time.

The frame is difficult to price as they do not come up very often but I would like £400 for it. If you think I am way out please tell me. I would also much prefer the frame not to be sent by courier so preference would be given to a purchaser picking it up. I do travel M4/M5 and the Cotswolds quite often so it may be possible to drop it off. Any questions please ask and sorry about the photos, I had to reduce their size to post them.

Re: Titanium GT Lightning 18'' Frame Original decals and sticker

Xizangs were handmade in USA
Lightning was TAIWAN made iirc

True, all I said was that in the saddle I can't tell the difference. I have owned and ridden both and just because it was manufactured in Taiwan does not mean its rubbish or inferior. It is however worth less to a collector.

Of course it is not inferior. I think meanwhile they may have an
advantage ;)

They are infact far rarer than xizang because of the shorter production run.
