Titanium-Dynatech-X-Lite-Mountain-bike_

Reckon the four made refers to this X-Lite demonstrator, rather than
the Torus frame and Trimnell forks.

I'd say the price was fair, even a bargain, if the light use is correct.
That Torus frame is well made, an equivalent new ti frame must be
a grand upward.

I've a Dyna-Tech catalogue, undated but probably 1995/6, which lists
the Trimnell fork as an option on the Torus. The Torus XT had a list
price of £1300, with the 'direct control' fork costing another £215.
An expensive option when the UGLI was only an extra £85, or the
suspension RC35 £280.

Well that makes me feel better - seeing as I was the one who paid too much for it :)

Been after a set of those forks for ages!

You got a good price there.... I was umming and arring on bidding, but
I really collect the bonded frame Dyna-Techs, so just watched the
bidding end without too much action!

Those forks are really funky and will get looks wherever the bike is
ridden. The article I've got on them, fitted to a Dyna-Tech Decade
bonded metal-matrix frame, has the stems bonded to the yokes. The
article notes production forks will have the stems clamped to the yokes,
which appear to be the case with your bike.

Thanks - I was debating whether to go so high but in the end decided that I'd wanted them for so long that I couldn't not.

Remember some guys that used to ride for the same shop as me getting a pair of the forks - I really wanted some but just couldn't scrape together the cash as a hard up 16 y/o!
