Titanium Anniversary 1976-1986-2016

Re:

Tinsanium :D

So the Serotta Ti Max is the ultimate keeper. Wow. No point even trying to find one in my size. Il be too old to ride it

Never been a fan of Ti road bikes iih. They just feel too dead but offroad is different, Ti's natural shock absorbing properties combined with optimum geometry and a stiff frame......there is NOTHING better. That bike is a 94 FAT Ti for me

Re:

You have all right my friend, titanium have many properties for made an excellent mountain bike.

And for an old bike, no rust !

i just saw this, and i am awestruck.

u could have an exhibition of these bikes and serve coffee. i would happily spend many afternoons there just looking at them.

super!!!

Re:

That pic of the ones with Ti forks so rare you are more likely to win the lotto than ever see one on a trail. That does it for me.

I still think Ti is the ultimate mountainbike material making for all purpose riding. You can make the frames stiff enough, it looks understated and yes, they do get a ton of attention. The rust free metal is easy to clean and the ride is sublime.

Re:

I can remember the magical effect Ti had on people who looked at and hefted the first bikes back in the late 80s and early 90s. It has an almost warm feeling to the touch unlike the coldness of steel. That feeling has certainly never left me. I always thought that Ti would long be surpassed as the ultimate bike frame material by now but imo it still hasnt. Its still as relevant with a unique comfort feel, great aesthetics, anti corrosion resistance and longevity that carbon will never have. There are still plenty of top end frame builders using it.

Roll on Mojo Ti’s 50th then

Got many bikes in all material in my collection : steel, aluminum, carbon and titanium. In the end of 80ies, I fall in love for Cannondale and, if they were expensive, I could easily reach my goal in 1991. I discovered titanium that year and then, a Merlin Titanium became my main wish and graal for an ultimate bike and I had to wait 15 years for owning one
