Wanted Titanium 135 rear axle/ sh@gged XTR hub?

Have you seen what can happen to a dropout when an axle snaps?

For that 20g saving i would stick with genuine parts only - although if the bike is a showpiece then it doesn't really matter

Nope, but I can imagine! There's that famous photo I remember from a magazine just when some downhill dude's ALUMINIUM stem bolt fails - silly sausage...

The most action it'll get it the odd jump off a kerb and some riverside paths! I'm spacing the hub to 132.5mm near as dammit to suit the frame. Axle from a 130 hub is too short - axle from a 135 hub might just not be too long. A pal who has access to a lathe was, in my mind, going to shorten a '135' axle to suit. I'll just proceed with a Suntour axle I've got to see if it just fits - there is a little space on the underside of the skewers that might accept a mil protrusion outside the dropouts
