Tioga Cartridge aheadset, info needed….Help!!

I had this when assembling the Aheadset on my FSR. I'd put it together on the workstand thinking it all went together nicely, but it wasn't until it was on the floor that I noticed the significant amount of play (like it was the wrong size headset). The movement all seemed to be at the crown (onto S-works carbon Mag forks). I found that I had to apply a decent amount of downward pressure on the assembly whilst tightening it up.

It’s sounding similar to my experience, however, I can tighten everything to the point that nothing rotates, but still manage to get the fore/aft play at the top of the steerer tube.

Thanks for this, but when googling,I couldn’t find anything. Ideally I want to see an exploded diagram to confirm if assembled correctly / got the correct items. I’m at a loss.

Sooooooooo, it transpires that the bag of ball bearings I’d put in a safe place still needed to be put back into the bearing races…….what a twat I am

Needless to say, everything now works/fits sweet!!!
